Privacy Policy

Vauntico (“we,” “our,” or “us”) helps founders share publicly available engineering evidence. This Privacy Policy explains how our free public GitHub engineering snapshot works and what happens to information you submit to us.
1. Public Scan Data
The public scan reads publicly available GitHub data for the GitHub username entered, including account tenure, public repositories, recent public activity, public followers, and public profile fields. A scan is point-in-time: it reflects the GitHub data available when the scan runs.
Opening a shared scan link (for example, /scan?u=<username>) triggers a fresh scan. It does not retrieve an earlier stored result.
The public scan requires no signup and does not require Vauntico to receive your GitHub credentials, and it does not access private repositories. The public scan endpoint does not persist the scan response as a reusable result; opening a shared scan link runs a fresh scan. The current free Public GitHub Snapshot does not require an email address. To run a scan, Vauntico processes the GitHub username you provide and the public GitHub metadata returned for that username. The current scan result flow does not present a lead or email form.
2. Information We Collect
Public scans are based on data that is already public on GitHub. We do not receive GitHub credentials as part of the scan.
Some information is stored only when you choose to submit it. The contact form may collect information such as your name, email address, company, role, team size, and message. Contact submissions may also be sent to Vauntico by email so the inquiry can be handled. If you submit an application or create an account, we store the information you provide.
Separately, limited operational data is processed automatically, such as page-view analytics and, for some submissions, limited request metadata such as an IP-derived identifier and user agent. This does not include the contents of scans.
3. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect information transmitted to and stored by the service. Requests made by the service to GitHub and to our data storage are sent over HTTPS.
The public scan does not receive or store your GitHub credentials, secrets, or private repository contents.
The public scan is not a security audit, a certification, or a guarantee. We cannot guarantee that information stored or transmitted can never be accessed or disclosed, and we encourage you not to share sensitive credentials or secrets with us.
